The Mount Gambier and surrounding Libraries are often hosts for local author events. These libraries invite Collins Booksellers Mount Gambier to their events to supply books, for fans to purchase and get signed. At these events we will have stock of the authors new release books as well as a small amount of stock of previous titles, for newer readers.
Most events in Mount Gambier are only attendable by bookings done through the staff at the Mount Gambier Library due to limited space. Although it is not necessary to book for attendance at author events in Millicent or Naracoorte, it is reccommended and preferred by the staff, as it gives them a better idea on seating and spacing, as well as giving us a general idea on a number of books to bring (we would hate for anyone to miss out on any purchases at the event). Contact the Libraries by telephone for bookings;
- Millicent Library, (08) 8733 0903
- Naracoorte Library, (08) 8762 2338
- Mount Gambier Library, (08) 8721 2540
- Collins Booksellers Mount Gambier, (08) 8723 1056
Please do not hesitate to contact us or the libraries, for any questions about our attendance at the events.
Victoria Purman
Victoria is an award-nominated and multi-published Australian contemporary romance author. Her next release is 'Radio Hour', due to be released May 1st 2024.
some more information on 'Radio Hour':
"Martha Berry is fifty years old, a spinster, and one of an army of polite and invisible women in 1956 Sydney who go to work each day and get things done without fuss, fanfare or reward.
Working at the country's national broadcaster, she's seen highly praised talent come and go over the years but when she is sent to work as a secretary on a brand-new radio serial, created to follow in the footsteps of Australia's longest running show, Blue Hills, she finds herself at the mercy of an egotistical and erratic young producer without a clue, a conservative broadcaster frightened by the word 'pregnant' and a motley cast of actors with ideas of their own about their roles in the show.
When Martha is forced to step in to rescue the serial from impending cancellation, she ends up secretly ghost-writing scripts for As The Sun Sets, creating mayhem with management, and coming up with storylines that resonate with the serial's growing and loyal audience of women listeners.
But she can't keep her secret forever and when she's threatened with exposure, Martha has to decide if she wants to remain in the shadows, or to finally step into the spotlight."

"When helicopter pilot Stirling Hawley travels to Grassmoor in Victoria's lush Western District to claim an inheritance, he doesn't expect to face a town that hates him.
Nor does he anticipate being saved from near-death by glamorous vintage clothing designer Darcy Sloane. Or that she'll take a personal interest in his recovery. But Grassmoor and Westwind, the historic mansion Stirling inherited from the father he never knew, prove full of surprises.
The more Stirling digs into his father's life, the more uneasy he becomes. Behind Dougal Kildare's respectable stock agent and farmer veneer was a man of secrets. While the fraud that devastated the community and led to Dougal's tragic death is one, there are others. And such things never stay buried forever...
As Stirling's suspicions about Dougal's death grow, danger creeps ever closer. Until it's not only Stirling's life in peril but the woman he's come to love."

"From interviewing local flower growers to receiving blue ribbons for her show baking, Lauren Bickford's genuine love for her hometown is almost as strong as her ambition to become a radio presenter. But is it enough to outweigh the series of on-air stuff-ups that have plagued her career?
No stranger to this small winegrowing region in South Australia's Limestone Coast, Jack Crossley is the new cop in town. He's traded his city beat for a slower pace, and as a former local, knows only too well that mischief can lurk around every quiet corner.
For Jack and Lauren, the course of true love is not running smoothly. Can he restore order in the town before the neighbourhood watch vigilantes take justice into their own hands? Or are Jack's biggest worries much closer to home? Can Lauren's reporting remain impartial as her attraction to Jack grows? Or will her family's advice lead her completely astray?
Featuring Penwarra's 100th Show, a one-eyed goat and a galah named Gary, Wallaby Lane is a complete delight from one of Australia's favourite rural romance writers."
